First Weekend in December

Going back a few weeks, the first weekend in December was a pretty busy one because we had several different activities on Saturday.

We started off the day at breakfast with Santa at church.  This is a yearly tradition with Ryan's family that we originally thought about skipping because the rest of the day would be so busy but decided to go and we were glad we did!

Honey and Audrey.

Honey doing what she does best!  Haha.

Ian, Lisa and Haley.  Haley was all dressed up in preparation for her recital that afternoon!

Sweet cousins!  Haley always wants to hold Audrey.  It's so sweet.  I feel bad that many of the times she asks to hold her the timing is wrong.  She loves her cousins so much!

Haley got Parker to at least walk up and see Santa.  We didn't have him sit on Santa's lap because we wanted to save that for seeing mall Santa.

He gave Santa a hug and there were NO tears!

Santa gave Audrey a candy cane, of course.

I think these two were pretty happy to see the man in the red suit.

After breakfast was finished, we had about two hours before we had to be at Haley's piano recital, so we decided to go ahead and buy our tree.  We buy ours at a church right down the road from our church, so it was convenient.  It's funny because it always seems like it takes us hours to pick out the right tree and I feel so silly because I'm sure the tree people are thinking, "um, come on people, it's just a tree."  But I do feel that we got the perfect one!

Parker thought it was the best!  It was like a maze for him.

My sweet baby's first time picking a tree!

We headed home to drop the tree off and then to Haley's recital which was right around the corner from our house.

She did such a wonderful job.  She has learned so much in the last few years!

Once the recital was over, we headed home and got the kids in bed for naps and started to set up our first tree, the fake one.  This is our colorful tree.  Someone decided to wake up a little earlier than we thought she would, and then soon after, her brother woke up to help us finish the tree.

She was perplexed by the lights.

This little boy is a master decorator!

He loved putting the ornaments on the tree.  Truly, he would have put all the ornaments on there if he could...

...and I think he would have put them all on the same branch!  Haha.

More Christmas fun to come!  Have to play catch-up as usual.
