Florida--Day Four

So on day four it was time to leave the beach and head to Orlando.  We got up, finished packing everything into the car, and headed to the Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg.

Not sure why, but I loved this sign.  It was basically like a tropical version of the botanical gardens.  Very pretty and a nice walk.  It was a little toasty, though!

A nice guy that worked there gave Parker a bag of fish food, so he got to feed them every time we got to a pond.  He loved it!

All of us sitting on the Growing Stone.  The sign says "Legend has it that, 'He who sits upon the ancient stone shall be granted tranquility, inner harmony, and the talent to make things grow.'"  I am totally down with all of that!  haha.

Looking for more fish!

Pretty girl kicking and pulling on a palm tree.  She loved being in the stroller!

It was a beautiful stop on the way to our "new hotel" (as Parker called it) in Orlando.  Once we arrived, we got everything into the hotel and headed to Wal-Mart to pick up some groceries.  We were told that this particular Wal-Mart also had tons of Disney souvenirs at great prices, so I bought a couple of t-shirts that were $8.97.  I was SO glad because I later saw the SAME shirts at the airport for $20!

Be prepared because the next Florida post will cover DISNEY, which was super fun!

Audrey is 11 Months Old!

.....and has been for two weeks!

Audrey

We will keep this month short and sweet since it's been a couple of weeks since you turned 11 months old, and you'll be ONE in just over two weeks.  So crazy!  It seems like you've turned into such a big girl in the last month.  Mostly pictures for this month and just a few notes!  We took these pictures on May 9th.

Being all girly playing with a flower.

Just a little piano practice with Daddy.

Hey, fingers!

Giving the flower to Daddy.
  • You are still wearing size 3 diapers.  In general, you wear 9-12 months in tops and 3-6 months in shorts.  You wear a size 4 shoe!
  • You are starting to "talk" more and say momma, dadda and baby pretty clearly.  You also say brother and thank-you, but others wouldn't know that's what you're saying!
  • You are really into pointing at things you see or want.
  • You like to hand things over to us and "share" your food.  Soooo sweet!
  • You are obsessed with baby dolls.  Thankfully you aren't attached to any particular doll--yet.
  • You are so good at giving hugs and "kisses"...aka an open-mouth lunge toward our faces.
  • You eat EVERYTHING!  It's wonderful!
Love, love, love you and cannot WAIT for your birthday!

Technical Difficulties

Please know that I have been trying to blog ALL WEEK but have been having some technical difficulties surrounding my picture editing.  Apparently my computer is all, "I'm full!"  So I've been trying to figure out a way to double-store my pictures before deleting all of the old ones from my computer.  Should be able to resume tomorrow!

Florida--Day Three

Day three in Florida was a total beach day minus a morning golf outing for Ryan.  We ate breakfast at the hotel and went right down to the beach.  We stayed there until lunch, went back to the room to eat and let the kids take naps, and then headed right back down to the beach until about five.  After that we got showered and changed and headed to Sloppy Joe's again for dinner to have the absolute best amazing grouper sandwich for dinner one more time!  Here are our 5,000 beach pictures from our last beach day in Florida.

Actually, before the beach pictures, here are a few pictures of Audrey's morning nap in my arms on the balcony.  It was so relaxing just to sit and watch her sleep with the beach in the background.

So glad we live near the beach because this boy LOVES it.

He had the best time in the water with NayNay.

She enjoyed shoveling sand AKA hitting the sand with the shovel.

She also really enjoyed picking up sea grass and attempting to put it in her mouth!

This girl was a little unsure about the water at first but loved it in the end.

I just love baby concentration faces.

I attempted to get a "cute" brother and sister picture by the water and they just weren't having it.  All Audrey wanted to do was put sand in her mouth.  Parker was trying to stop her.

Audrey did not appreciate that.

And now for a little after-dinner-picture-taking-session:

Yeah....totally would not look at the camera.

Frizzy hair much?  At least Audrey "matched" me.

From no smile to fake smile in a matter of seconds!  Haha.

Best fam picture of the bunch!

I love these ladies and am so thankful for them everyday.

Florida--Day Two

Day two in Florida was actually our first full day there.  We started off the day by taking a walk down to the ocean.  It was pretty cool each morning, so we had to make sure the kids were warm enough.  Luckily, it warmed up each day enough to go to the beach later in the day.

We ate breakfast at a local restaurant called The Frog Pond.  Audrey kept herself occupied with a flower wine-stopper my mom kept in her purse for her.

After breakfast we walked through a local farmer's market and headed back to the hotel to change to go down to the beach.  Audrey was VERY well-prepared...

Could not get over the sunglasses on her!  She didn't like them too much, though, so I'm not sure when they'll make an appearance again.

She wasn't so sure about the beach initially.

The water was a little cool, so I think she was kind of shocked that it wasn't like her bath water.

In the evening, my mom, sister, Audrey and I went on a walk to Walgreen's to get a few things.  In this trip, Audrey went in a liquor store for the first time!  Every milestone must be recorded.  Haha!  She was soooo sleepy.

Big foot.

In the evening, my mom and sister offered to stay at the hotel after I put Audrey down to sleep so that Ryan and I could go out to dinner with Parker.  We had a super-fun "date".  We went to dinner at a great restaurant right down the boardwalk.  I had the BEST Grouper sandwich EVER.  Seriously.  After dinner, we walked to the local ice cream shop and then headed back to finally get our sweet boy in bed.

Stay tuned for day 3!
