22 and 23 Weeks

Yeah...I slipped up. Sorry! I am in the middle of my 23rd week right now, and I forgot about doing a 22 weeks post....I'll blame it on the baby for now since I can :) You'll notice the pictures are a little different--the website where I usually get them doesn't do weekly pictures at this point--they're now monthly. So I'm finding my own pictures of the veggies/fruit they mention. Here is alllllllll of the information:

22 Weeks:

Spaghetti Squash
At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

23 Weeks:

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

Just to let you all know, this baby is moving around like crazy in my stomach! I feel it the most at night when I go to sleep and in the morning if I lay in bed for a few minutes before I actually get up. It is an amazing feeling, and I love it. This week should be a pretty normal one. We're both working all week, and we have no big plans at all. We will hopefully be able to look at some houses and maybe find one.........we'll see about that. The home inspection was done on our house today, and for the most part, everything was fine. There were only a couple of minor things that the inspector mentioned, so we should be good to go for 11/23. I am going to really try hard to pack up some stuff this week that can be packed now like things under the beds, books, DVDs, things in the closets, etc. Wish me luck!
