Parker's Third Birthday Party!

We had Parker's third birthday party this past weekend.  The theme was "Jake and the Neverland Pirates."  It was a fun party!  I was so busy prepping and socializing that I completely forgot to take pictures until it was time for the kids to do their activity--decorating cupcakes!  I saw this idea on another blog and thought it would be fun since there would be an age range.  The kids all loved it!

Haley and Ian--major concentration going on.

Parker and Kaley decorating.  SO much hair being held back by his headband!

She was so funny.  She was eating the sprinkles instead of the cupcake!

Miss Jaidyn.  Great at posing for the camera!

Onlookers.

Happy birthday boy!

Haley's creation.  She did great!

The aftermath.  You can imagine how many sprinkles were on the floor.  Haha!

After the kids were done with their cupcakes, we moved on to present opening.  Parker got the best gifts!  He was so happy and has a lot of toys to look forward to using outside in the summer.

Daddy was his helper.

Opening his Skull Island toy!  He liked.

This was Parker's new inflatable pirate ship for the pool.  It looks awesome!

A few takeaways from the party:
  • I am the best mom ever because I totally forgot about singing the birthday song!  Who does that??  We got caught up with the cupcake decorating, and it just slipped my mind.  Of course, no one reminded me either, so it was everyone else's fault, too!  We did sing it on his birthday even though he freaked out when we did, so he did officially turn three.
  • Wyatt was sick, so he, Amy, and Jimmy all had to miss!  Omi and Roger also skipped because they were coming off of illnesses.  This has been the craziest week of sickness--I'm thankful that we were even able to have the party!
  • We had pizza and a bunch of different dips--again, all food that he doesn't even like.  I made cake pops and cupcakes that I thought turned out pretty delish.
  • The kids spent the majority of the party in the playroom.  Luckily we had plenty of adults that could rotate in and out to supervise.
  • Audrey was a little unsure about the whole thing.  I think it was just too much for her.  There were so many people there, and she was pretty fussy the whole time.  Again, we were lucky to have plenty of people there that wanted to hold and love on her!
  • I chose not to invite any of the kids from his school because he didn't ask about it one time, and it was easier that way.
Now I have a baby girl's one-year old party to start thinking about!  It will be nice to have a party where everyone can go outside and enjoy the weather (hopefully).  We did have fun at this party, though, and are so thankful to have so many relatives and friends that want to celebrate with us!
