Mickey Mouse Hands

In pregnancy-related news..........my hands are swollen. Ugh. This is mostly a morning to afternoon thing--not night. I wake up and it's like Mickey Mouse hands. I tried taking off my wedding rings yesterday and was NOT able to do it. Not a good feeling, I must say. I am aware that this is most likely baby-related, but it's frustrating! I was finally able to pry them off this morning after nearly ripping my finger off. Seriously. I just wanted them off for fear of the finger falling off in my sleep! If I was not able to pull the rings off by the end of the week, they would have been cut off because they were making my hand feel claustrophobic. I went all day today without the rings, and I must say, it was not a good feeling. I think I am going to have the rings re-sized to fit my "pregnancy-hands." I love my rings and can't stand not having them on. I feel hand-naked, and the automatic I'm Taken symbol is no longer there. Not that I have throngs of men lining up to hit on me or anything like that, but you know what I mean.

According to my pregnancy update e-mails, the baby is currently the size of a grape, but next week it will be the size of a lime! That seems like a pretty big jump to me, but according to the e-mails, it's only a 1/2 inch difference. I'm trying to decide when I want to start the belly/bump pictures. I'm thinking that 12 weeks will be a good time.

I'm also trying to decide what we should do while we both have a week off in August. I'd like to take a short love-trip but can't figure out where to go. Maybe I should ask Ryan for input?

Here's all of our veggies Ry picked from the garden this weekend. Don't they look yummy? Too bad none of that sounds good to me today...haha. We will see what tomorrow holds.

The world's most photographed dog (who needs to be groomed)--you know you love him.

Relaxation Time

We had a great anniversary dinner on Thursday at McCormick and Schmicks. We both ordered Parmesan-crusted Flounder, and it was realllllly good. Ry wasn't as crazy about it as I was, but yum! We went on a walk in one of our possible future neighborhoods, Thoroughgood, afterwards. It was so nice. The only bad thing is that I didn't feel too great after we came home. Here's a picture we had the waitress take for us:

I normally would not post a picture like this of myself (being that I look a little chipmunk-ish and it wasn't taken at my best facial angle :), but it's our anniversary picture, and I'm keeping it real. Haha, we also look funny with our hands like that, but we are lovebirds, so who cares??
Ry ordered a Rum Punch (or something like that). He first ordered a Jack and Coke, but after he saw the Punch on the menu, he decided to get the girlie drink instead!

Today, I bit the bullet and went golfing with Ry. He has asked me several times to go, and it really did not interest me AT ALL. I decided that it wouldn't hurt to try.................................and I actually really liked it! We had a really good time together, and I wasn't too too bad for a first-timer. We played nine holes--Ry shot a 47, and I shot 70. I am already looking forward to the next time we can go together.

No comment on my form, please :)

We are relaxing on the couch at the moment. I am interested to see if I wake up a little sore from the golfing--hopefully not. We have no plans at all for the weekend, which is a great feeling. We will almost definitely be going to the pool at some point because it will be too hot and gorgeous not to!

Happy Anniversary to us!

Today is our fourth wedding anniversary! I cannot believe it was four years ago when we said our "I do's." I still love Ryan just as much today as I did on the day we were married. He is the best husband any woman could ever ask for, even with all of his neuroses and complaining :) I truly cannot imagine my life without him. I would be lost. I know he is going to be the most amazing father to our sweet baby, and I can't wait to see him in action. I think he will probably show me up a little in that department, but I will learn! I am looking forward to going through everything in life together and being a sweet, old couple that people want to write songs about...haha. I love you so much, baby! :)

We went to the NHC today and were able to see the baby again! It was amazing to see it in there looking more like a baby than a blob this time. It was moving/twitching around in there, and the ultrasound technician said that this is because it's nerves are developing and that the movement is actually involuntary. I didn't care whether it was voluntary or involuntary--I was just happy to see it in there moving with a beating heart! She moved the ultrasound probe around to give us different views of the baby. One was a view that I guess could be considered looking at it's little behind from underneath, so all we could see were it's butt and legs. It was so cute because it actually looked like a chicken. When we are finally able to have the pictures, I will post that one because it was so funny.

I have to go in tomorrow for some bloodwork that requires me to fast overnight. I can't have any food basically from now until after the appointment, which is at 8:20 tomorrow morning. It will be fine, but I know I will be hungry when I get up tomorrow. I haven't actually thrown up from "morning sickness" yet, but I do feel pretty nauseous when I first wake up in the morning for about 10 minutes. Eating some cereal usually makes it feel better, so we will see how that goes. This bloodwork is for them to check my sugar because today I had glucose in my urine. The doctor said that usually there is no glucose, and mine was at a +3. They are checking it tomorrow to see if it's something they need to give me medication for or just related to something I ate. We will see......

Other than that, everything was very good. I am only having one injection per week now for the next four weeks, and then I should be done with all progesterone medication. At that point, the baby does not need it anymore, or at least as much of it anymore. I have been feeling pretty good other than the morning nausea and some random periods throughout the day when I will feel nauseous. I also get sooooooooooooooooooo so so so tired usually right around 1, 2, 3pm. Some days it almost gets to the point where I feel like I cannot go on another minute unless I lay down for a few. Luckily, my work schedule is extremely flexible right now, so I can take a short nap if I feel the need without it impacting my work week.

We are going to dinner tomorrow for our anniversary dinner because tonight we had a wonderful dinner at Ryan's parents' house. It was sooo nice to be there with the fam and the flies :) Ryan has been out of town for the last four weeks on Wednesdays, and I ended up making plans on each Wednesday that he was gone, so we missed the Wednesday-night-dinner event for a whole month! It was a wonderful "homecoming," and I am already looking forward to next week.

I am going to drink some water and continue reading my current book, Eclipse. I have turned into one of those vampire-obsessed-teeny-bopper-want-to-name-my-firstborn-boy-Edward crazy people that is "in" on the Twilight craze. I can't wait for the New Moon movie to come out in November. I will sleep all day to be at the midnight showing!!!! For those of you (I think about three people haha :) that are into this, you HAVE to go to this website and get really, really excited. Yay!

Summertime

So....this will be mostly pictures. Here we go.......

Since the last time I posted, a lot has happened in our little family! Actually, what I am about to post happened two days prior to the last post, but I had to have some "official" confirmation. Here it is--

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Praise the Lord. They are all positive, and the bottom one says "Pregnant." We have been to the doctor several times since these, including seeing the baby twice on ultrasounds. During the most recent ultrasound, we saw the baby's heart beating. It happened during the non-treatment month, which is a true blessing. Most of you that will read this are already aware of all of this, but I had to update for posterity! Please continue to pray for our sweet little baby to continue resting comfortably in my four-star uterus. :) **For any of you that read this, we're not quite ready to announce this to people at church or work yet, so remember that--and NO Facebook postings about it--yet :)

Okay, so then July 4th came and went. We told our entire family on both sides about the baby at a party at our house on THURSDAY (yes, Thursday :) July 2nd. Thanks to the photographer for the evening, Ashley, we have some good shots from the evening.
Auntie Amy and I :)
Jaidyn enjoying her pudding--love this one.
Me explaining the "game" I wanted to play.

Lisa and Rog figuring out the answer to my "game."

Hugs...

...Hugs...

....and more hugs!!

Me exhibiting where the needle goes. I have to have Progesterone Oil injected every other day to help support the baby. It still hurts a little, but I'm pretty much used to it now.
The kids on the hammock. They loved it!
This one is actually from the Jeffersons' get-together on the actual Fourth. Sooo cute!

This past weekend, we went to DC for the weekend to see the Elton John/Billy Joel concert. We also visited with Chris and his wonderful girlfriend, Molly. We had SUCH a great, relaxing weekend. I actually would like to go back soon and do more exploring around the city. Because we had the concert, everything was a little rushed. Still fun, but semi-rushed.

Chris and Ry enjoying their girly drinks.

So...that's about it for updating. I have got to get better about keeping up with the blog, but it's been such a busy time lately with all of this stuff going on. Now that I'm "caught up," it should be better. How many times have I said that since I've started this? :)

I'm off to watch Big Brother...loving the show and it's only three episodes in. I'll leave you with a picture of Reese sulking in the laundry room. He rolled around in cat poop outside and smelled sooooo gross. I confined him to the laundry room until we could give him a bath. He smells like coconuts now!
Nighty night!
